Council Bluffs

First here is the outcome:
2nd place Armed Regulation
3rd Place Color Guard Team 1
3rd Place Dual Armed Exhibition
1st Place Overall Regulation

Whew, what a day, here are some of the highlights

Anyways, we leave at about 350am thinking we will be there at 800, we all settle in and start to sleep, watch movies, etc. etc. THen its 700 and we are 12 mi. from CB. I call CW4 and tell him this, he says, "your kidding?" No sir I am not. We arrive, get everyone inside, and the commanders that are competing go to the meeting because, well we could. I just wanna say that those meetings suck, I thought they were more interesting, they aren't. Anyways the first event is Armed Ex duals, they did good s4 dropped his rifle, but they still pulled 3rd place. After that it was Color Guard team 1, We smoked em, 3rd place, but that beats all the others below us. Then Armed Reg, there were a few out of steps, however I am proud of our 1 first year cadet, he did excellent. then Unarmed Reg, no offense to the cdr of the team, but he needs some work. We came about two inches from a wall before we turned around. In the end though we did good. Then there was Dorks CG, he did good, forgot a part, but thats ok. Almost the entire drill team got into the idd finals, Dork got the closest (top 11) The awards ceremony went on as usual, boring, long, and hot. We went to Golden Coral for dinner. The CSM over ate and ended up puking in the parking lot! We got home by 10pm we went home and I slept til 9 the next morning. Thats the meet. It was fun the next one is North. Same day as prom!!!

Small screws are made to make us mad.

This post has nothing to do with the usual.
Small screws were made to make us mad. Have you ever tried to fix your eyeglasses and the screw falls out and goes into the abyss known as the carpet? Have you ever tried to take your computer apart and the screw falls into the couch? What about when you are putting together that toy or piece of furniture that says, "some assembly required." once you have lost that screw, do you go over every square inch of the carpet, tear the couch apart, or just scream because you hate the phrase, "some assembly required?" But, in the back of our minds we know we won't find them until we get up to go to the bathroom at 2am, or when Stanley Steemer comes and cleans the upholstery, or we just give up on that infernal toy, you don't need it until Christmas anyways.
Small screws were made to make us mad, however, we will continue to put up with them until they make some something worse.

Spring Break

Spring break started on Friday, we went to Bellevue on Saturday (more on that later), I have practice for Drill and for PT all week, and the Mr. B is in town. Spring break will be over before you know it.
Anyway, the drill meet....... Where do I start!!??
0330- Dorkboyfriend and I arrive at the high school
0350- I get everything loaded on the bus, take attendance, and get everyone on the bus.
0400- we take off
about 0815- we arrive at Bellevue, CW4 gets us up to the classroom takes us in and tells us we don't start until 1240!! The reason we start so late you ask? They forgot to put us on the list, so they had to squeeze us in all day.
1240- Armed Reg- my team- We get on the floor, we do the routine, get off and think that we did really good.
1250 (or close to) we have to go straight from Armed to Unarmed Reg. That goes really well
After Unarmed Reg_ we have until 1540 til oclor guard team A. We all go around and chill watch some other schools.
1540- Team A goes on. We do really good, the only thing that went wrong was Sis 2 almost lost her rifle, and I was behind on the present arms.
We leave the ring and hand the flags to team b ( again they were right after each other)
They go on and do really good!
Fast foward to IDD final and awards ceremony.
IDD final- S4, S3, and me all are in finals. We all are doing really good... until they call cover and the s4 and I put our left hands up, when they were saying it was right hand ( Come to find later it is the left). S3 gets out for not aligning to the right.
Awards ceremony- We didnt place, but boy did we come close, the closest one being 4 points!!!
We leave the meet get on the bus stop get some Burger King, then head home. When we hit Eddyville I had people start calling their parents to be picked up. We get to the school at about 1145, everyone was gone within 10 min. I head home and went to bed. This saturday is Council BLuffs, I think we will be okish!!!!
